Title: Strut top bolt removal?
Post by: markh450 on July 24, 2009, 09:33:15 PM

I need to change the springs on the front. Tried loosening the top nut (inside the engine bay) and it just spins the shaft. I think I need a deep shaped 19mm spanner to grip the nut while I turn the 8mm bolt head that pokes through the nut?  Can I get one of these anywhere? or am I missing something simple? can I just grip the strut from below and turn the nut? ???  ???

air gun it at a garage, and then loosely fit it and drive home (as long as not too far lol)

Use a pair of mole grips on the strut piston from in the arch but use some thing so you don't scratch the piston works for me ;)
