As the title says really. Im pressing the crown wheels bolts into my Quaife ATB tomorrow morning and just wondered what torque setting people have been used on these?
Cheers
you'd probably be best off asking Quaife as it might not be the standard torque setting you need. I think my haynes gearbox manual has the standard setting in it but I'm at work all day.
I have ordered the Haynes Gearbox manual just to act as a guide whilst i rebuild my box but i was unsure as to whether it would have any crownwheel torque settings in because I didnt know if any of the 084 box's had bolt on crownwheels!
As you say maybe best to ask Quaife but i have a feeling they will just tell me to use standard torque settings as its the standard nuts and bolts, not Quaife supplied fixings being used, plus the diff is meant to be a standard straight swap if you see what i mean..
Shall give them a ring i guess!

yeah that's a good point, I can't remember if it does or not. If it doesn't then I probably just set my inner-body torque wrench to F.T.
ah but the hayes brand torque wrench settings are way off.
I mean Hayes's setting for drunk is 25 pints!
no, I was recently calibrated
Who's been calibrating you ? :D
:D im giving Quaife a bell today so i'll see what they say!
