Hi Guys,
Just in talks with Stu over on R5 Turbo Owners Club, about organising another 1/4mile thrash for us all- basically I'm trying to set the classes out as below:
Class 1: Standard Cars (engine wise)
Class 2: Standard Charger/Turbo Stock Capacity
Class 3: Modified Charger/Turbo Capacity under 1500cc
Class 4: Unlimited - Non standard engine, RWD etc (anything goes)
Should hopefully level the playing field a little- also gives Ash and other 20v lads a chance to streach their legs in the Unlimited Class :scyth:
Also trying to get it at Santa Pod, as it's a better track and far more central for most members, just need to settle on a date that's not too near anything else...
Polos should stand a good chance now, Steve (beavis) proved polos can penetrate the 13s in true road form, as has Andy and Duncan, who have both been knocking on 13s door for far too long now :D
Who's up for it??
Yoof
I am game mate.
Good idea with the classes, although I don't think completely stock cars even exist anymore. And the ones that do aren't really the type to taking it down the strip.
Any rough ideas for dates.?
I think i will be up for this it was good fun last time i just wasnt very good at it :D
I think i can get another 2 G40 boys along with me as well to make up some decent numbers this time. Plus Santa Pod is just up the road.
Cool stuff, all about having fun LOL and hopefully beating a few ronalds whilst doing it.
There's also a show and shine, which I expect a fair few members on here will trounce the competition (looking towards you Alex and Spaniel) so it's not all focused around the strip.
Renault boys are good lads too, true petrol heads and wlays have some good banter and interesting conversions to hand- swapping ideas isn't a bad thing either, especially with the new breed of turbo'd polos coming through, can deffinately learn a thing or two from the renault boys- they've been running in the 13s (and lower) for years
I'd be well up for this, even tho my G aint the fastest it will be good for a run.
any news on this guys?
Been talking to my mate Stu at RTOC, there should be some news from Yoof soon.
To get you thinking Stu has sent me this link (http://rtoc.sytes.net/cgi-bin/leader_board.cgi) to their 1/4 mile times.
He recons that 2/3 of the people on the list are regular attenders to 1/4 mile days.
Dam they're quick!
errrrrrrmmmmmmm out of 52 i can probably race an win agaisnt a grand total of 0 of them LMAO :D
There's lots of them in the 15s, 14s etc too- They're the quickest of the quick on the leaderboard.
I'm hoping to be in the 12s soon- but will still get a spanking if anyone from their top ten turns up.
Be interesting to see how many of them are road legal...
i would deffo be up for this but my G wont be back on the road for a couple of months, but should be quick when its finished and run in again
It's ONNNNNNNNNNN

Sweet will be there, but not in the Polo.
Organise a drift section for my Sierra :( haha
That picture of the tyre is quite cool...though the red comic sans doesn't quite live up to potential.
People need to get plenty of pics/video from the event.
Tav- I can e-mail you the original file if you want to have a pop?

Yeah that'd be cool, might be fun to have a wee bash at it. Not having a go, just could be a little clearer/nicer.

Looking forward to this i'm there all weekend anyway.
I'm not going to make this now. Snapped a downpipe stud putting my decat pipe on. Got to get the manifold off now which will probably mean I end up snapping one of those too. Have a good un boys and do your best against the Ronalds!
Where was everyone? Me, Lianne, Danny & Warren were there, where were the rest of you? :p

Yeah not many G40's there. I think there was only 3 of us. My times were useless again, I need loads more practice still.
Sorry as I said I did end up snapping manifold nuts but luckily managed to get them out. Was proper gutted working on the car yesterday, it looked like perfect weather for pod.
What times did you get then? Any Ronalds there?
nope, no ronalds
my best was a 14.70, think dannys was a 15.0.. i only did 4 runs, think danny did 5
disapointing turn out :(
My best was 14.9@99mph
