what would make a G40 overfuel on start up? blue temp is new...any other ideas? just trying to get my head round something.
nasty chip - ecu fault?
what do you mean on start up? How long does it overfuel for? What makes you think it is overfuelling anyway? There are a million and one reasons really, starting with basically any of the engine sensors or damaged wires in the loom, although they normally cause problems all the time.

mmm well ive tried a different ecu. it just smells very petrol like on intiial start up and i think thats whats causing my problems on start up with the miss fire. I do have a slight blow in the back box but im gonna get a new one this week so that would make it smell a bit i'd have thought but it wouldnt make it do owt else.
it takes a second or so to start missing so its like an electrical fault, like the ecu is getting a bad reading and adjusting wrong.. im starting to think i may have a damaged wire but im not too sure, just thought i would ask this to get thinking about it again. i tried another fuel pressure regulator too..that made no difference. would a damaged or old CO pot cause grief? its set right but its the only sensor i havent changed.
the car will often stall if started cold and left standing. as the idle eventually drops it'll then drop off and stall. doesnt do this at all after a few mins driving.
i also put a new fuel filter on but again no difference.the car drives totally problem free when its warmed up..not even fully just after a few mins driving.
I thought you said your valve seats might be worn - heat causing this to be less of a problem as it warms? I dunno - i've never messed with a head.
