Title: forged pistons?
Post by: sinister polo on May 16, 2009, 11:57:29 PM
is it possible to get forged pistons that will fit straight in,
or do you have to go 1341?

and also whats a good brand of piston to use, keeping the standard compresion ratio?

Wossner pistons have the oem comp. ratio (8:1).
There is a various selection in piston bore. 75mm (stock bore-1272cc), 75,5mm, 76mm and finaly the 1341cc conv. with 77mm pistons...

price wise there won't be a massive difference between 1272 forged pistons and 1341 forged pistons so you might as well go 1341.

Yes, it doesn't worth at all going again with 75mm pistons.. You will have to spend a little more (+ the honning process), but you'll increase the engine efficiency and reliability...

can you get 75mm bore forged pistons?  I didn't think you could. You might as well go 1341cc though as getting the block bored out by 2mm isn't expensive really.

yeah pretty sure i have seen 75mm wossners listed before however might as well go 1341cc 77mm though for the small difference in cost..
