Don't all pile on defending the G40, but I reckon this guy's been racing a GT not a G40...

the 0-60 time sounds a little out for a G40, i'd say its a GT,
sounds like a load of chav racers chattin shit
I doubt it was a g but then i would say that lol.
All i can say is that after reading some of the posts on that page -
"I wish i had a Yaris!!"
the car infront.....
Thats funny prob not a G, they talk about racing 106's puntos, Not even worth it in a g40
iv driven a brand new yaris ts, and trust me it is no where near as
fast as a g (a modified one at least).
a yaris ts is a glorified granny wagon!
So is a G40, haha! :D
haha, i suppose u have a good point! ;D
but i no wich car i would rather have!
Hmm, he's insisting it was a G40 because he could hear it whine. From behind the car. I've got toothed belts, but all you can hear when I'm ragging my car is the exhaust. It's only when you're stood next to the bonnet that you can hear the supercharger. The only cars you can hear whining from are Eaton charged ones, and they'd slay a Yaris on half throttle.
Sorted, think the general consensus is that it's not a G now :)
haha they have finally got it through their heads then...
might seem random but why the hell were you on the yaris owners club forum anyway alex :P
checking throo all the forums to defend the g40 title hahahaha
i have a mate with a yaris.. might be on this site ill ask..
he will defend the title as he lost sight of me down a "private road" after about thirty seconds :)
and he loves my car

We're building one at the moment - the UK's first FF drift car. I'm in charge of the project so always interested to see what the forums think!

It's not just some gimmick, we've got Fensport, Sumo Power and Jemca Toyota to sort the engine (1.0 turbo!) and chassis (TRD catalogue). It's with Perkins Automotive in Solihull at the moment having the bodywork sorted, carbon fibre roof panel made and the roll cage built. Then it's having a respray and getting liveried up.
They'd picked up on it but hadn't actually updated the thread in ages, so I registered to fill them in on the latest.
How does FWD and drifting work then?
yea id like to know that too,
and id prob leave it lookin like that lol looks cool.
Lots of rear wheel lift, no weight over the back wheels and the rest is down to the driver. It's massive in Japan!

lift off oversteer i would guess, wider track up front than at the back. ive always found polos good for lift of oversteer, cant see it being as much fun as a rear wheel drive car though
i find the lift off on the G40's are crazy..
sometimes its just a little other times you could be on a hard bent and easy off and its broadways..
terrifying for those who are not to it :O
Time for a subframe mate; not so many brown moments by far.
got a PPP subframe with poly bushes
kw variant 1's
lower strut tops
just too light in the back end :O
no back seats ya see and no spare ..
Lift-off oversteer's not really drifting though is it? Be interesting to see how successful it is - guess it'll be similar to Plato's recent efforts in the BTCC.
It's more sliding than drifting I guess, but it does look like fun!
Here's Jason Plato's attempt:

Thats awesome haha
I just looked at that post. its my mate that says about his mate havin a G40 and my bro with the 330bhp ibiza. I'll have to take him for a spin in mine soon. mines running 150bhp so he should appreciate what quick little cars they can be with a bit of work. then report back to them lot!
