Post by: chuffy on April 20, 2009, 05:26:12 PM
i have no oil pressure when the car is warm... below 1.5 bar at 2000rpm

but when it is cold i have a good 4.5 bar

Just changed the oil pump and this made no difference

Any Advice?

This is normal !
When oil is warm pressure fall down. I hv around 1.4 bar nd on full throttle around 3 bar. but when is cold it's around 6 Bar.
No need to worry

No this is not normal. the oil pressure light flashes and beeps at me.  Also the engine will not get more than 1.5 bar when warm even when revving the nuts off it.?

Is there a seal a miss in the oil delivery chain somewhere? Any recent engine work might have left one amiss?
I say this because I currently think that's the state mine is in, after starting it and finding a good supply of oil to the floor coming from somewhere between the head and block I think...

Did you use original VAG senders? And the wires are correctly connected?

Cheers

check the pressure range values stamped on the back of the senders to make sure they are correct and you've not got two of the same.

engine now in pieces suspected blocked gallery, ecessive end float, and worn main bearings.
Bad times

Good luck mate... Sounds like bearings well shot... Time for new bearings, seals and a good gallery flush.. End float will sort out with the new thrust washers, I sure your crank is ok...!
You can fix it all in a day, keep the faith!!
