Title: G40 headgasket vs GT head gasket
Post by: Robin on April 14, 2009, 08:52:14 AM
Are the G40 headgaskets different to the GT ones?

Anyone used a non genuine HG on a G before?

A GT headgasket would fit but G40 headgaskets are made of a different material.

I use a thinner MLS Victor Reinz HG from Gladerseite.de. It increases the CR a little but runs fine, better I must say!

Cheers

not sure about material, I always thought a g40 gasket was slightly thicker than non-g40 ones.

I'm currently using the thin metal gasket from a 6n 8v polo.

I know you can get metal Gaskets, but i would have thought the G40 gasket was better because of the higher compression rate.
