Title: poor starting
Post by: packers on April 10, 2009, 05:20:32 PM
Hi here's one to get you scratching your heads or maybe not i dont pretend to understand engine managment systems. anyway try to start the engine after its been left off for say 5mins and it just winds
over for 5 to 10 secs before hesitantly bursting into life turn off try again starts instantly turn off leave 5mins even if engine is hot and problem reocures. starts better if anything in winter.allways starts      eventually and once running works great.anybody any thoughts on this one would be much appreciated.

i had similar problem on mine a while ago,
if i remember correctly i think it was the coolant temperature sensor,
(the blue one on the thermostat housing)
maybe try unplugging it?
but dont quote me! im no master mechanic!

Had the same idea changed pump +filter +fuel pressure regulator also tried a pressure gauge at end of fuel rail holds at 1.5 bar even after 30 mins . could well be fuel problem but running out of ideas.
