I'm new on here but you may have seen me about on Club Lupo, Club Polo, Edition 38, Vag-H20 etc.....

Hello Pete, dont worry the G's in good hands mate!! The interior, wheels and engine are still MINT, saving up to get a few bodywork issues sorted though!! ::)

Nah Paul, I have a Passat estate as my daily and the wife still has the Lupo!! The plan is to proper mint up the G40 bodywork wise and then run this to the shows!! ;)
Any advice on G40 ownership would be gratefully recieved. I'm keeping it standard, so have just bought some VW oil and a filter to keep on top of the servicing and to look after the charger which was serviced about 15K ago IIRC.

Hi Paul, good to have you on board. Do you still have that mk2 squareback i remember seeing ages ago at a Mascrat meet?
Sound purchase that G40, been a well looked after one.
charger was done at 74k if i remember correctly. if its on a std pulley - driven sanely - should be good for 25-30k
I did the cambelt and water pump with genuine vag parts myself too - 4 years on probably a good idea to do them too - and change the little charger timing belt.
In my opinion this needed a repro rear numberplate vinyl and some proper g40 tinted quarterlights (bonded in - those were genesis ones)
car looks absolutely mint Paul, you got a good one there,
nice to hear you're keeping it standard too, i've just changed my
water pump as it was very nearly a disaster, one of the belt runners
popped off the back and started to eat away at the timing belt,
it was the origional pump and the car has 150,000 on it.
ill probably see you out this summer.

The cars booked in for a full wheel re-furb and i'm in the process of collecting a few bits and saving the money for a hit of paint and body work going over early May!! ;)
