hi, i did the boost return on mine a few months ago and to be honest it was pants, i'd say its only good if you are looking for a loud whoosh noise when you change gear. it doesn't improve performance in any way at all, if anything i'd say it loses it, but thats only my personal opinion. its fairly easy to do, not difficult at all. i used this post which i got off clubpolo.co.uk.

like i say its great if your looking for that loud whoosh noise and trust me, you will get noticed.
but it just wasn't for me.

cheers Tom

hi cheers for the link just a few questions

1,why do you need to spray the grease in the charger what greased it before the mod ?

2nd,is the whoosh noise the excess air coming into the throttle boddy that is just rappidly escaping that would have gone through the boost return pipe?

3, the bottle you have added is that a replacement for the carbon canister sorry if these are stupid questions but new to all this as you were once.

1. the crap that comes out of the oil breather is what is relied on as standard to lubricate the charger.

2. yes the air coming out would normally go through the boost return and back to the charger inlet.

3. it's an oil catch tank, connect the oil breather pipe to it and it catches the vapourised oil and water that otherwise goes back into the charger with the standard boost return pipe in place.  Nothing to do with the charcoal canister which is part of the fuel tank breather system, you can bin this part if you want but doing so has no benefits other than reclaiming a bit of under bonnet space.

Nice bit of space for a cold air duct to the air box  ;D

The best reason for removing the charcoal canister is the weight you save!

the reason for doing the mod is u get hot air going back into your charger which is your enemy really and the oil vapour lubricates the charger ye but after a while is acts as a paste which wears away ur seals
