Title: NO SPARK, any ideas??
Post by: stuG40 on October 05, 2015, 01:33:18 PM

any ideas? My G40 has being running fine after a recent rebuild + K03 turbo conversion. A few days ago the car just died, turned out to be no spark. carried out all the usual new coil, rotor ,hall sensor ect

when I put a HT lead straight onto the coil pack and turn the ignition on I get a single spark, then when I crank no spark.

I'm thinking ECU or loom? also I checkED the alarm and disabled the immobiliser, any idea??

thanks in advance

I'd be checking wiring first. Did you have the loom out to check during the rebuild?

Also check the engine earths too.

Replace your earths if they're old. They cause 1001 issues. Even if it looks fine, for the sake or about £3 you may as well change them.

for the interest of the forum... turned out to be the blue coolant temp sensor, advancing the ignition to 127 degrees and reading -40. thanks :)

blue temp sensors are a common fault - they all fail eventually - just search this forum, and imo are worth replacing from time to time for that reason
