Title: Fitting new Manifold, do I need to.......
Post by: UJA on June 09, 2015, 08:52:16 PM
Hi, I've just bought a PPP 4 Branch and will be fitting soon. Will I have to remove the charger to make the necessary room to fit the new manifold?

This is in a Mk2 bay by the way.

Also, if I do have to take off the charger, (sounds like a silly question, but I'm new to G40s) how do I tension up the belt correctly when I refit it? I have been told there is an adjustment bolt in the hole in the left hand side / belt side of the charger? Is this correct?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Gary

Best to take the charger off as access to the port on cylinder 1 is restricted by the charger.

When refitting there is a square hole on the belt side of the charger pefect for a 1/2" breaker bar to fit into.

There is a torque setting to tension it to, but I've always just used a breaker bar. Just don't go mental and completely hang off the thing.

Excellent, thanks for that. I'll have a go and see how I get on. Cheers.

I took off the charger mount and jacked up the engine for more room

Hmmm, sounds like that would work too, I'll have a look when I'm under the bonnet and see what way suits best.
Cheers Gaz
