Title: Pearl Grey Polo CLG40T
Post by: samg40 on May 19, 2015, 08:44:31 PM
Hi there,

I am probably going to regret this sale at some point but at the moment I feel I need to move on and I have something else I want to move onto. I will try and list everything that I can about the car but I may forget the odd thing so please feel free to get in touch with any questions. The car was originally built by a guy with incredible attention to detail which resulted in the car getting a feature in Golf+ magazine some years ago when it was a show car. The paint was done to a very high standard which bar the odd blemish is still as good today. The high price reflects the high quality of the car and its components. I am quite happy to do discuss different options if people want to change the spec to alter the price somewhat on discussion, ie without wheels etc.

Price: £4k
Location: Sheffield

Pearl Grey CL shell on 53k miles.
Full respray less than 10k miles ago.
Colour coded bumpers and mirrors
Stitch welded and gusseted engine bay
Full PPP roll cage
Stage 3 PPP subframe
FK Konigsport coilovers
256mm brake conversion
KKK K03 turbo conversion
Front mount IC
Alloy radiator
Helix paddle clutch
Lightened flywheel
PPP exhaust
Bucket seats, 4 point (road legal) harnesses
Boost, oil temp and pressure gauges.
OZ alloys with four good Yoko A539 tyres

As I have tried to show in the pictures there are a couple of dings and a small scuff in the paint. Also the front bumper is not in the best of shape and could do with being redone. Apart from that the only other thing it could do with is a proper remap to get the best out of the turbo conversion. It is currently running with a PPP chip. This is a pretty quick bit of kit that drives really well and I will miss having in the garage. I have just dropped the oil and it will come with a full years MOT.

Please note I am not the worlds best photographer and these were taken on an iPhone. Any questions please get in touch.

I can certainly vouch for this car - the shell is spot on.

Sam you should take some pics of the inside to show the cage etc along with some engine pictures to do this car justice.

Very quick as well. Spent all of 10 seconds behind before she gave me a run for my money

I drove this a few weeks back on track - it is a very well sorted car, aside from the driving position which didn't suit me (but nothing an adjustment to seats couldn't sort) it was excellent fun, and quick too.

With a set of slicks it would be a very swift motor (quicker than the one Sam's going to buy)  ;)

Cheers guys and a good idea Robin. Got it out of the garage today to take some. Reminds me that I forgot to mention the carbon fibre doorcards, sparco wheel and it also has remote central locking via a Cat 1 alarm.

what sort of power is she pushing? very interested in this!

is it too outrageous/temperamental to use as a daily for a short commute?

dont fancy a swap for a mk4 v6 4motion + cash your way?. only done 56000 miles

cheers, Tom
