Title: Opening the bonnet.....

....with a snapped cable. Has anyone a good way of opening the bonnet with a snapped cable?

Front grille out, then pop the catch.

You can also reach under and up

Not the hardest motor to break into that's for sure

I've not had a proper look at it yet as I'm still feeling a bit poorly from earlier on in the week (ahhhhhh) but I was hoping it would be easy enough with the grill out. Not to worry too much if I kill the grille as I've got a spare.

To make matters more interesting the squeaking alternator belt that I had has finally given up and popped off now the bonnet is stuck shut! Great.

The part of the latch you push down on is to the left of the mechanism and of the VW badge. A hooked screw driver type thing will sort you out.

And you can just replace the cable with a bike brake cable
