Title: quarter mile time/ rolling road figues
Post by: djtez on January 04, 2009, 09:22:32 PM
more a question to wat quarter times have you acheived in you polo?
wether it be a turbo eaton or just the G-lader

and also the mods you used to acheive this? and if you have a power in mind you have or the actual output that would be brilliant

just want to know what im comparing my car too and wat kind of 0-60 times i'm looking at,
the origianal 0-60 = 8.6/8.1 (depends wat site your on)
is not too slow but it all that fast

thanks for the replies

hmm not too bad, its not as great as i hoped to be honest.
i ran a 14.6 in a pug 106 gti with raceland 4 branch and group n exhaust and a viper induciton kit.
no other mods to my knowledge.
but the car was total stipped out apart from front seat and dash board.

its all about the grip in my car, i could get full traction in 1st 2nd and 3rd due to skinny tyres, with more grip and a diff you could easily see low 14's with 150 ponies.

Yeah TBH, the higher powered ones aren't too great off the mark unless you have subframe/wishbones, some slicks and preferably an LSD too.
Once you get 'em going a bit through second gear, they are far better. Traction is always gonna be the limiting factor on a standard Mac strut front end only located from for and aft movement by an anti roll bar.

A friends ex G40 running around 150 Bhp (estimated from 1/4 times) managed a 14.6 best with A539 tyres in std size. Spec was:

Full Blend
Tooth belt drive
Chip
Induction setup
GT Inlet manifold

Not bad really....
