Title: CO Pot- what is it?
Post by: Fungus on January 22, 2015, 12:40:26 PM
Just after some clarification really; how does the CO pot work? Is it literally just a potentiometer, and if so, couldn't I just use a potentiometer of the same value?

Probably a stupid question but I can't find much info.

Thanks

It's an inlet air temp sensor and potentiometer combined in one assembly. The pot is used by the ECU to apply an offset to its base fuelling at idle and low load, to allow for CO adjustment come MOT time etc.

Perfect, thanks.

So having it set up poorly won't lead to any engine damage, since it's only influential to the fuelling at  low load?
