VW Classic Parts have GT/G40 fuel pumps in stock. 45 euros + 25 euros postage. The postage is more than 50% of the cost of the item which doesn't make it that cost effective.
I'm suggesting I buy 3 and then post them out here. So it'd be £43 ea. + about £5 P&P That's a lot less than the £75 it'd cost individually.
If we bought bought 5 then the saving is even better.
So...
...anyone keen?

Just get a sytec one, cheaper and rated for higher powerz
v strange, given they were 3x that from vw originally....
on vagcat they are 240 euro... buy one before someone spots the typo
thats cheap. I bought mine from vw a few years ago and im sure it was £230 then.
Tempted to get one as a spare at that price.
Count me in at that price :)
Someone alerted me to them being online on the Mk1-3 Facebook group...I just don't want to spend the 25 euro on postage and I know that fuel pumps are normally v. expensive from VW.
I will help out with the postage,no worries :)
That's 3 people who seem keen enough, I'll get them ordered.
Ordered 3 for starters. First 3 people to PM for Paypal details get them. £45 + £5 P&P.
First 3 gone. Anyone interested enough to go for another 3? I stupidly sold mine so could do with at least another 2.
You'll have a pm if you got one of the first.
I'd be interested if they definitely are the correct pump for a G40, then yes I'm in.
It's from VW and it says on their site. Correct part number from VAGCAT too 867906091
Ok another 3 ordered. 1 for me 2 for...who ever PM's. I'll hold one for JoeH.
I'll have one if its still on.
Fred.
Payment sent
First batch of pumps arrived today...and the part numbers match VAGCAT for G40/GT pump. Will get them wrapped up and try to find some suitable packaging for them.
Next bunch should land in a day or too.
I've also got lovely new shiny G40 badges too, see other thread.
Mines all arrived, looks like good deal and quality item, so thanks.
Hi Tav.
I can see now where I have gone wrong.
My G is still in bits but as far as I'm aware will have the same size connectors of course.
The pump I bought from someone on here has a different socket to my Genisis.
I bought it because I converted the single point injection on the AAV engine code Genisis to mpi NZ with a GT camshaft.
So thought I better upgrade the fuel pump as well but because of that I never have. It does however seem to be unaffected.
Now I know I could just make a set of fly leads to convert the connections Which is probably best unless I can find the proper female plug somewhere off a scrapper.
I'm told that on later models that they made the blades smaller though they look the same to me but the plug is different.
It could just be normal polo's and maybe the G's are all the same. I don't know.
The loom plug on my Genisis wouldn't fit even if the blades were the same because the guides that make sure it connects properly are different as well. Arse!
Pics below.
1st pic shows pump I bought which has the guides on the outer edge of the socket and one center on the other side.

2nd Pic shows the pump on my Genisis and the two guides are closer to the center and none on the other.

3rd pic show the loom plug on my Genisis so you can see why they are different.

Hope this all works Tav. Its been a while since I've done this.
I'll paypal you £50 for a new pump and postage anyhow for the G40. I also have a full GT Engine and setup now to go in the Genisis at somepoint which is chipped in the ecu so I'm sure it'll require the proper pump.
You may know all this already Tav but thought I'd better explain incase its all news to you too.
Thanks for your time Tav. I must meet you one day. The Garage I'm building in my garden is near completion so the G work will start then and hopefully I can start going to all the meets that I have missed out on for one reason or another.
Fred.
So whats the connector look like on these you've been ordering Tav?
You can see the outside of it in Tav's picture above.
I suspect that all G40's are as that.
My Genisis is early L reg but I was told that it changed in later models.
It is possible that some of the conversions had the same problem if not a GT
but say a cl, Genisis, fox or boulevard.
I can tel from Tav's pic that it is the same as the one I purchased on here..
Fred.
I had this Fred when I converted that GT a few years ago. I just changed the front to back fuel pump loom, it just clips in behind the dash on the passenger side. Not that difficult and was easy for me at the time as there was barely any interior in the car so I just ripped the carpet up.
Ahh! So GT's got changed too. That must mean then being as GT/G40 pumps are the same spec that they did them in either connection.
Fred.
Gt and g40 pumps are the same yes
The change in connector is a late-spec thing. All L-reg cars I've seen have the different connector, and I guess some late K-plate cars may have them too?
Maybe I'll be able to locate either that part of the loom or the plug
and a few inch of its wire still attached from a scrapper to graft on then.
I'd prefer that to fly leads.
Easy swop back should I ever put it back to spi as well.
Fred.
