Title: Oily turret syndrome !
Post by: FORCEDINDUCTION on August 18, 2014, 01:23:41 PM
Having drove back from Harewood house yesterday (VW FEST...nice to see good G turn out :)
Noticed the suspension turret ( By pass modded) COVERED in oily substance , I've had a few specs of oil before on full boost but never this much.
I've read a few older posts re the oil feed being really hot and thin and damaging the seals..is it time for a full rebuild of my charger?
And how do I stop it in the future...oil cooler? Restrictor?

The banjo acts as a restrictor already, but i would say look into getting a standalone oil kit.

Thought as much, I was going to get it rebuilt end of the year anyway or one of the spares I have just incase..looks like it will be sooner :(

Then consider an external/stand alone oil kit...it's not mega power or anything so didn't think it justified one really.

The amount that was on the turret probably 20/25 ml would indicate a blown seal, that was after 60 mile trip back with the missus driving it at 50/60 mph ( following our camper ) steady no big boost moments :(
