please don't use things like "help" in topic titles, be more descriptive.

Should just be a case of swapping the whole clocks over.  If you want to retain your mileage reading then swap your existing speedo into the new clocks with rev counter.  It's all just simple unscrewing and screwing back in.

Hayesey :-) is it the same wiring behind the clocks on standard 1.3 so all that would be needed is the rev counter? Cheers

All you do is put rev counter clocks in, voila

you can swap the speedo unit over yes.  The wiring is the same, assuming the clocks are from similar age cars, just unplug one, plug the new one in

The difference in wiring is between older (j, k regs) and "newer" mk3 polos (m, l regs). If you get the oil pressure warning buzzer then they're different clocks.

If it is an early one with late clocks, ie the horrible oil buzzer you can take the clocks apart and solder two pins together to stop it making the noise. In my experience you have to provide a new light circuit for the clocks as it stops the illumination too.
