I fairly confident I conducted more scientific (and relevant) tests in primary school...

I'm no tribologist, but I'd want to know its properties at a representative temperature and pressure in an automotive application for a start, also resistance to contamination, separation, aeration etc etc.

I'm fairly sure you could replicate that with Fairy Liquid... clearly we're not all going to pour that into the sump!

Given the R&D budgets of oil companies, and the targets OEMs affix on suppliers, I'd be astounded if man-in-shed has brewed a special formula on such a budget. As with all these companies (magic beans in fuel tank for economy, friction modifiers in oil, split-fire spark plugs) they all have small school-level experiments to showcase a marvelous technology, but no actual test data in an application.

Let us know how it goes anyway!  :)

Yeah when I started bmw I had to go for a tour round the castrol factory where bmw do all their oil testing
This facility was insane!! Bmw must spend millions and millions reaserching oils. Was impressive, more like a surgical lab than a workshop lol

But from what I saw there to the test that guy did.. I trust the manufacturer

I was so confused by oils and finally decided on full ester synthetic oil, but will be going back to synta silver
