Title: random missfire
Post by: vwmk3jon on April 18, 2014, 10:57:17 AM
Engines fine when fired up in the morning and most the time when i finish work but sometimes when i put my foot down its as though it pauses and then it works fine but sometimes dropping a gear is the only way to solve it.

Mainly does it if i turn the engine off and back on when its still warm (like getting petrol).

Checked dizzy and rotor arm and theyre ok.

Any ideas?

Well ive changed the coil and it was ok for a while but earlier the dreaded splutters back. I dont know if the shit morrisons fuel is anything to do with it as i filled up at sainsburys last time and everything was good.

Hmmmmm...... ran fine on sainsburys. Had no choice using morrisons. Either that or push it lol. I'll add some octane booster to it and see what happens.

UPDATE:

Put some supreme v power in, cleaned the dizzy out but wasnt really dirty and checked chip in ecu as per richs thread. How much effect would it have hacking into the wire for the lambda? Thinking of disconnecting my AFR gauge and seeing if it helps.
