Hey guys anybody have any ideas on this one on the way home today about a 20 mile drive the stop beeper/buzzer sounded 3 times no red lights on the dash came up or anything just the sound I know the sound from over heating my first polo cl lol, so yeah no lights just sound then nothing, temp sitting at about 90 that's normal though oil fine cheers Ben ,
the only buzzer in a g40 is for oil pressure warning. Not sure why the light wasn't on too though.
Could it be the switch/sensor? I cleaned and made sure all breather pipes and AAV are free from oil and got a 1inch pipe coming off the crank breather in to an open top monster energy can so shouldn't affect anything there , thanks hayesey ;-) ( it hasn't happened again just weird :-S )

It goes off on serious coolant overtemp too.
really? I didn't know that! I don't even remember it going off the time my old GT boiled up when the thermostat stuck. oh well.
I have never heard the sound of it in my G40! Maybe mine was broken as I was amazed to find out there was one in the first place. ;D
Mine went off when I was bombing down the M18 with the coolant cap half off and hardly any coolant in. I thought it was because the oil had boiled and gone really thin and the pressure had gone daft.

Did in my car on track. Oil temp and pressure both okay on separate gauges, but my temp gauge was broken so I relied on the overtemp lamp to tell me when enough was enough, and the buzzer would come on at the same time.
Should I renew thermostat as well as oil pressure switch ? Cheers
Did you go round a roundabout hard and it come on? Mine usually comes on then. Is it still doing it now? Could just be the light on your clocks broken and that's why it didn't come on. Also the temp gauge on the polo isn't very accurate, I had loads of trouble with mine, reading 110degrees and the buzzer going off, even though I'd only driven a mile!
New temp sensor is £15 I think from vw. Not sure on pressure sensor
Taylor
Yeah Taylor hard left cornering and only then lol
