Title: Hello from bonnie scotland
Post by: daveg40nut on December 14, 2008, 03:05:57 PM
Hello i am new here but have occasionally looked in from time to time having owned a white one for 3 years from 1998 - 2001 i traded it in to a garage in north yorkshire and haven't seen it since but boy was it a superb car.
If you know of its whereabouts i would love to know as it has a very fond place in my heart.I won't give out the full reg on here but it started k196.     Would love to know if it is still around.
Great cars and that noise from the charger was addictive ,brakes were garbage but really that was the only gripe i had with it
Love em!!

Welcome Dave.
Is there any reason why you won't give the registration number out? I can never understand that? It might help you find it or what happened to it.

the reason i didn't give it out was that because its not my car anymore it doesn't feel right to give out all the details i know about it as this forum can be read by anyone. I know i wouldn't like it if someone did it to me.
Don't want to offen ANYONE on here as i have only just joined up.
:) :) :)

Welcome.

I doubt it would offend anyone on here to give out the car reg. In fact, the current owner maybe interested in it's history (work done, mods etc)

no pictures of it then?  I can understand you not wanting to give out the full reg as some people don't like it.  It wouldn't be the first case of a reg being cloned by people looking on forums full of similar cars.

Right here goes i don't know how to resize pictures so the only way i can show an admittedly bad pic of it is to got to my mates web address and look in his photos section under the sub heading
Assorted scanned pics of my old mini 1380  and current golf:

would just like to know that it was being used and or abused as when i had it i was lucky enough to get on very well with my vw dealers parts guy who for exactly £10 would supply me with the genuine oil filter and 5 litres fully synthetic synta (i think) oil, so EVERY 3000 miles it was changed.
beginning to give up hope :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
