Erm.....well the pipe that you attach to the breather dome..can you just vent this to the floor instead of using an oil catch tank... and would you put a filter on the open end of the throttle body.

U can vent to atmosphere but that's a bit lazy and will probably cover ur underside of ur car in oily water mess (I know someone that did that and it was a mess) just buy a catch tank of eBay for like £20, and a filter on the tb won't really do a lot tbo just leave it open

Throttle body is constantly blowing air out, except when on boost. I doubt very much anything will go inside, just stick a filter if your worried. I have ran the boost mod for about 4 years now and never had a problem.

What are the actual gains and bad point from doing this modification if any...or is it just for show...?

And abviousley the hot air going back into the charger...an the lil bit of oil...
Some say you need to lube the charger some say dont bother.....?

Who ever tells you not to bother, do not listen to them. The charger will need proper PTFE grease that the club sells on here.

http://www.polog40.co.uk/merchandise.php

I have heard of some people saying that they used to put a cap full of oil into it but i would recommend the spray grease.

Most people do it for the whoosh noise, and it stops the watery oil mix from the crank going into the charger and engine. But you kinda need that to lubricate it, thats why you need to spray no more than 2 secs of this ptfe into it every 1000 miles or so.

Jabbasport dont recommend this at all though.

Some people say there is no power gain from it but i dont think there is any solid proof that it does/doesn't.

I found that the air coming out of the throttle was cooler without the return pipe on. But everyone has different opinions.

Its essential u use a 1 inch unrestricted pipe on your breather to catch tank. If restrictive it can pressurise the crankcase

Hi, just curious? did you notice a power increase?

Erm....its hard to tell pal...for some reason it kinda holds back a split second then kicks it when i plant the throttle..
Or this minght just be my car that needs a good tune....it makes the dump valve noise that everyone goes for
Very loud tobe honest...but as for more powerid say no at this point.

Had the boost mod on mine for a while now with the oil catch tank, emptied it the other day as it's just pure water!!! No oil about 500ml of water! That can't be very good going into the magnesium alloy highly reactive scroll!
Ptfe will increase the life of the charger alot me reckons

Makes me wonder whether everyone (boost returned or vented) should spray ptfe...

Mines starting to get some crappy oil in it now. Never had water though.

If you dont spray any ptfe into it, it wont get lubricated.
