Hello everyone! with my new project almost ready engine-wise I am now after a new suspention! I have in the past used a couple of companies like KW and Bilstein and they where both durable over the years but quite expensive and too stiff for everyday use! Plus they where not adjustable and quite expensive! So I was looking on a couple of brands that are I am not familiar with and I would like to ask if anyone has any experience with them as I can find adjustable ones for cheap enough to be tempting! The brands in question are TA technix and Maxtrac! Are they any good?
you get what you pay for. They are cheap rubbish in my opinion.
Im in your shoes currently, however im going to go KW for personal preference, however Gaz shocks could be a happy medium.
Kw is what I will probably get too! I am a handling maniac after all!
I have gaz and am quite impressed for the value :)
Especially when compared to tein jap shocks, my mate got a quote for £2000 on his r32 skyline!!!!! And that was middle of the range!!!!
I guess it depends on how you intend to use the car, how low you want to go and your budget
You would need to think about other suspension mods too, i.e. GED brace bar, subframe, polybushes
Also what polo is it in?
Its not a polo anymore! I used to run an equivalent of stage 2 sub-frame, polybushes all around and KW on my G40 and it was a bit harsh. I was asking about what brands people are using and if they are pleased/displeased with the quality of their ride! My Eatoned G40 engine is now fitted in an Arosa. It is going to be my daily (meaning I am gonna beat the **** out of it)! So I am asking around for personal preference or experience on the matter. I am now considering non adjustable weitec or bilstein with a 5cm drop as KW only makes adjustuble coilovers that cost more than the car itself!
Horses for courses really, but I don't think there are any genuine bargains out there that tick all the boxes. I'm running a subframe and Bilstein B12 kit which I'm happy with, but it's standard ride height+.
Might settle a bit with time.
