Title: powerful G
Post by: samuel.cole on October 03, 2013, 12:45:57 PM
Right ive decided to keep my charger set up and build some crazy ass G40 with some money i have been saving,

got a fair bit to spend, but not sure whats best for what power gains. im looking to get the most out of my charger as i know its not running at its full potential at the moment. looking at cams, exhaust, pistons, conrods, chip tune, head work the lot, want as much power as i can get afford ably.

suggestions and ideas are all welcome, im not sure what or where to get it!

thanks

Sam

You won't need rods if your staying g40, not enough boost. But you can get PEC ones from the bay at good prices

i wanna stay with the lysholm and get it silly quick, what would you say from the list will add most power?

oh you've got a lysholm charger?  I thought you meant the g-lader.

if you want to make the car quicker then a differential will be the most effective one on that list.

as for power it's a bit hard to say as we dont know what state the car is currently in.  If it's never had a proper remap then that'd be worthwhile.

Jabba are good at porting, pretty poor at rebuilding

Before you've nailed down the engine mods., you might be advised to think about uprating the drivetrain. Half-shafts, clutch, a pail of C.V. joints and the odd spare ATV box. Power isn't cheap in your G.

would a forged bottom end (wossener pistons and forged conrods etc) help, i know it would be stronger and allow me to run more boost, but straight off would it give any more power?

thanks

Depends whether you go 77mm pistons, if you do its around 10bhp across the rev range

Jabba use themanintheshed for head work

And you could buy my fuel regulator ;)
