All,
With some subframes approaching 5 years in service, we're being asked about replacement components, specifically rod ends.
The standard (supplied) rose joint is here:
http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=kmr8-10t&x=0&y=0&osCsid=ec0gt07ja0lhjcs0pbvr544cl1
At £9.80 each they reflect the budget end of the market, and are a standard metal/metal construction, which when greased and fitted with a boot, will last a good few years.
Note there have been some bearings come with play brand new from Rally Design, check them when they're out the box.
The opposite end of the spectrum is an NMB bearing, aerospace quality etc, found on most high end race cars. With a Teflon liner they do not require lubrication.
Available from most rally parts shops (Merlin motorsport, Demon Tweeks etc) or here:
http://www.rallynuts.com/rod-end-bearings/nmb-high-misalignment-stainless-rod-ends.html
Clearly quality costs- for cars running on track/slicks putting greater loads through all suspension components, I'd recommend the NMB. Andy and I are switching both cars to them currently.
Hope this helps
Pete
Are the standard rose joints the same for adjustable tcs's as well?
Just wondering for future.
Cheers for the info Pete. Finally have cause to change one. Not a bad innings!
