Title: Tornado Red G40
Post by: Dipesh on July 22, 2013, 08:31:50 PM
Hi all,

Just a quick post if anyone fancys taking on a project?

Details:

- 92 K
- 125k miles
- Full history
- 2 previous owners, I've owner her 11 years
- Had a full respray, new genuine VAG wings, zero rust probably not enough done 100 miles since it was painted
- 256mm front brakes and bigger master cylinder
- ATV box, no whines or crunches
- Stainless steel exhaust - super sprint

Bad bits:

Engine needs a rebuild
Driver seat has split on the boulster seam

If the car is bought, first pick on all the bits. These are:

PSD Full blend charger, done 2k miles since rebuilt. Prior to that it was rebuilt by jabba sport
G60 injectors and chip (new)
51mm throttle body (done 2k miles)
GT inlet manifold
PSD 4 branch manifold and full exhaust system (new)
PSD toothed pullies (new)
Braided brake lines
New G40 badges
Tramont TY2 wheels (beautiful)
PPP Stage 2 subframe and ARB bushes
Plus loads of other spares e.g intercooler, door cards, parcel shelfs

I'm after £1600 for the car as the shell is mint. Ideal if you want to reshell yours and use a proper factory G40 shell rather than a Gt one. It also has a binder full of receipts.

If your interested, please drop me a PM.

Here is a pic of her when she was running, apologies for it being so poor;

Do you get a complete G40 for the £1600, just with a melted piston? Or is it missing the stuff on the 'bits' list you put up?

Yeah £1600 gets you the whole lot. I believe list just states what is included.

I would be keen for the shell and panels. Cracking looking G.

Morning gents,

Apologies for not being clearing, this is quite a big decision for me!

£1600 is for the car and everything to put it back together in pretty much standard form bar the Super sprint exhaust and 256 front brakes. The car will come on space savers, not the tramont's.

I am saying it needs a rebuild but it may not. It doesn't have a melted piston, when the head was taken off, a little trickle of coolant went down the bore, this has now got surface rust on. It is very light and looks like it will be removed by a hone.

The rest the buyer if the car can have first pick on.

I won't be breaking the shell for parts, is rather keep it as its too good and in my opinion it would be criminal! Only when the car is gone will the list of parts below be available.

Cheers

Dipesh

How can I say the engine might need a rebuild? What's wrong with it?

And if the list of goodies don't come with the car they shouldn't be listed ???

Sell me the shell?

All the answer to the first question is in my previous post.

I have listed the other parts available so that any potential buyer knows that they have first pick on, as stated in the original post.
