hey im thinking about fitting a boost gauge to my G40.
is this possibe and iff so where do you connect the hoses and wires etc.
any help much apriciated
tom.
Yes it is possible, you will need to connect the pipework via a "t" piece into an existing vaccum pipe.
As for the wiring, just hook it into any switched live.
A popular pick up is the vacumm hose that feed's the fuel pressure eg, just a simple 'T' off that is normally ample to feed any gauge requirements.
any pictures or better descriptions of this hose as i dont wana be snipping any vital wires/hoses
cheers tom
Just avoid the vacumn that goes to the ECU.
i have one mate il take photos tommorrow for you
cheers mate would be alot of help
I can get a pic of mine. I've got + and - running through a fused wire to the battery. Not wired in at mo as it only powers the light to see it at night.
i wire the gauge lighting to the illumination wires of the fag socket. It dims with the thumbwheel under the headlights then!!!
Didn't think of that!
mine needed a permanant live premanent ground and an ignition live i just used a multi meter to find the on the light switch and wired it via that then mounted it just next to the light switch ill get a picture and show you all (Y)
this is how mine is fitted ;D
