Hi guys!
I have a G40 running a 65mm pulley (Soon to be toothed), GT inlet mani and De Cat, and im after more power (and also power higher up in the rev range) , I have been looking at Piper camshafts on the TSR Website as ive heard good things and they seem well priced, im torn between the, Piper VPHBP270H, Fast Road camshaft, approx 8 BHP increase, 254 Degree.
And the
G40270H, fast road camshaft, G40 engines only, approx 15 Bhp increase, 252 Degree.
Would the 252 degree be a bit much for what i want? And would i absolutely need a vernier pulley to run an uprated cam?
Thank you!
i've always had the G40270H camshaft in my G40 ever since it was almost standard with just a filter and exhaust...
to be fair ive actually never drove the G40 without this cam so its unfair to say "its brilliant mate"
but ive since then ran a R1 charger on 65mm toothies with all the normal mods gt inlet and so on ...
iam now on path to g60 charger conversion (if a ever get my finger out) and still plan to use this cam i see no problems!
it also ran fine in lower revs not to 'lumpy' as sometimes described.
Brilliant! Thats good news, did you use a vernier pulley?
I didnt no...
Not that this is the best way or even advisory. But a have no problems although will be buying a vernier in the best future.
Ill give it a go without a vernier and see how it goes! Cheers mate :)
