Title: Front Upper Strut Brace Fitting
Post by: Alexis on June 26, 2013, 07:13:12 PM
I bought a JOM strut brace for my G40, came to fitting it, and it looks like the two mounts won't fit the contours of the body. There are two flats on the spherical shape, which the mounts foul on. On the driver's side, the flat has two bolts sticking out which would need to be cut off too (though they appear to serve no purpose).
Are you just supposed to drill the 3 holes in the body and let it squash into place? I didn't think that would be acceptable for the MOT.

Thanks.

It's as easy as you think; chop the studs on the off- side turret, drill the holes and bolt up tight. Washers under the brace at the mounting points reduce the obvious distortion.
