I'm trying to set my timing up and when the car gets up to temperature rather the the revs raising to 1200rpm mine seem to be dropping right down to 200 and literally trying it's hardest to cut out and stall.any ideas what's causing this?i can't set my timing because the marks are just jumping so I can't see where they are properly and can't get an accurate reading.

If you haven't already have a read through the diagnostic guide read it right through. Very comprehensive guide. Check the resistance of the Co Pot and make sure the sensors are all in good order.

If it's not behaving at temperature then it could be linked to the lamda sensor.

Sounds like the problem I had , check the connections on the blue temp sender, my wires were split. You can buy a blue temp repair kit off the polo performance parts section on this forum.
