hi, i have a MAJOR water leak on the front of my engine. it seems to be coming from the block just under the exhaust maniold, not the head gasket but maybe a drain hole or something? has anyone had this? much appreciated!

sounds to be a core plug any machine shop will sell you one for 50p just dig yours out and take it with you to size up against another.

if it is a core plug - then have you stored it with no antifreeze.? water expands and can pop a core plug out. but it can do other damage at the same time!

core plugs can just rot through too vauxhalls are terrible for it.

Core plugs are available from VW for pence. They don't normally go bad unless it's been run on a bad mix of anti-freeze or are full of rusty water etc.
Try and oil seal puller on them, easier with the engine out.
