hi, i have a MAJOR water leak on the front of my engine. it seems to be coming from the block just under the exhaust maniold, not the head gasket but maybe a drain hole or something? has anyone had this? much appreciated!

sounds to be a core plug any machine shop will sell you one for 50p just dig yours out and take it with you to size up against another.
-
if it is a core plug - then have you stored it with no antifreeze.? water expands and can pop a core plug out. but it can do other damage at the same time!
-
core plugs can just rot through too vauxhalls are terrible for it.
-
Core plugs are available from VW for pence. They don't normally go bad unless it's been run on a bad mix of anti-freeze or are full of rusty water etc.
Try and oil seal puller on them, easier with the engine out.
