oryt people just after identifiying a set of pistons am hoping they are g40 ones :), do they have a specific part number or is it a case of putting them side by side with gt pistons, any help wuld be great cheers

havent got the pistons wiv me at mo mate, but if ther is any numbers on urs it would be much apriciated if you could send them on and i can check with myn wen im next down with them, do you recon you could tell difference just looking at them then m8

Er i dont know. I believe all mk3 polo con rods are the same, except the 1w ones as they have a longer stroke. So maybe all 1292cc pistons are the same?

all the same except for 1w which have a larger 20mm pin

1w engines have a 22mm pin, all others are 20mm

oryt thanx for all replys so basicaly as far as i was aware all con rods are defo same, no that some 1 on hear sed that crank shafts could possibly be ever so slightly different but so small you wouldnt notice, and i thought that pistons wer specific to g40 for compression ???

pistons are specific, conrods same. crankshafts are different, (dif part no)

oryt pete thought pistons were the differance ye cheers for that you dont no how to identify g40 pistons from say gt ones do you i got a set and wana no wat they are cheers

G40 pistons dont have groves cut out 3f, aav etc do
