H&R springs or Weitec springs with Bilstein B6 dampers?

As per above, in a bit of a quandry about lowering my GT Hatchback soon.

I have a pair of front B6 dampers and Weitec and H&R springs. I'm looking for comfort and a smooth ride - can any of you lot assist?

The rear will be Weitec dampers with Weitec springs but i'm more than happy to chuck H&R springs on if the consensus points towards using H&R!

Thanks in advance, it's taken a while to get to this stage and I like to take my time in researching the best tried and tested setup.

Weitec springs, keep the spring sets together. Tbh there probably is not much in it.

Keep the springs matched together and the weitecs are supposed to be one of the softer sets giving a nice ride.

Guess comes down to what the cars going to be used for

Unless the springs are silly firm it's the dampers that'll dictate how nice the ride is. The billies will prob be quite taught...whether its what you'd consider smooth will remain to be seen.

I find my h & r cup kit too harsh for a daily.

Gonna be running one of Phil j's billies and kw kits on my daily next :-)

I'd say the weitecs for sure, but I was under the impression the B6 dampers are not shortened for use with lowering springs? Are you only going 40mm?

Eibachs definately give the best 40mm ride quality though. I used to love ramping over speedbumps like a stock car.

Really, I really liked the H&R kit on my Polo.  Had 14's though...might have had an effect on it.

Compared to a budget kit, it is better, but drive a 40mm H&R car then a 40mm Eibach and you'll see what I mean. Then do the same for a 60mm H&R and a 60mm Weitec/KW and again the latter has much improved ride quality. In fairness, both are more expensive though.

The shocks do dictate alot, and if you just so happen to one day get a bunch of polo shocks together and pop down to your local shock dyno you'll see H&Rs ratings to be good, but the actual damper valving cheap which doesn't allow for such a progressive ride compared to say a Koni/Bilstein.
