I was driving my g40 on the a47 and it suddenly lost all power and cut out and I'm now sat at the side of the road and it turns over but won't start.i didn't get any warning it was going to cut out my gauges were all reading the correct readings I'm now wondering what caused it to cut out.does any body have any suggestions for me.

First thing that comes to mind is the coil. They can just go, was your rev counter playing up at all did you notice?
Also check all the engine earths, these engine can be fussy about poor earth connections.

I would of said hall sender straight away as my g40 did the same thing to me.
I might have a spare one if needed.

Hall sender by the sounds of it. The oil has probably weeped in from the camshaft, there's a seal there you can replace (from memory). someone on here is/was selling hall sender/ dizzy bits, take a look in the ads section!
