My ATV gearbox has been returned after a service and fitting the ATB Quaife LSD.
The guy who did the work recommended using Dextron 2 Automatic gearbox fluid as the best fluid / oil to use. Seems a bit strange to me for a manual gearbox?
What is the best option for smooth gear changes, a quiet gearbox and long life?!
Don't want to bugger it up after all the hard work.
Thanks

quaife recommend standard original vw gearbox oil, that's what i use in mine. Torsen diff dont require special oil unlike plate diffs.

I would go with whatever quaife say!

I just used the standard gearbox oil vw recommend in mine
-
should be ok for a quaife but in case anyone with a different diff reads this, ask whoever makes the diff what to use as some (plate types) need different oil.
-
Yep make sure that you use the VW recommended stuff with the Quaife unit. Wont be the same for different manufacturers though so always check...

Thanks for all the recommendations - standard VW recommended stuff it is!
Thanks again.

Thread bump.
Need to fill up my ATV box with a Quaife fitted. The standard VW oil for the box is G 060726A2 but the VW dealer doesn't know the specs of it. Is this oil really the best thing to use? Its £4.95 + VAT per litre btw :)
I did mention Quantum Hypoid but its not listed as the oil to use.

I'm sure it's 75w80 or 90
