What exhaust manifold options are there?
« on: December 17, 2012, 06:31:49 pm »
Im in the market for a new manifold, either a standard one, if i can find one in nice condition or a 4 branch stainless manifold.

What options are out there for the g40?

Thanks all

Theres a PPP exhaust manifold in the for sale section, IMO the best you can get very well made piece of kit, also depends on your current exhaust system diameter not much point fitting a 4 branch with a 63mm outlet onto a 51mm stock system,

An old PSD manifold is an option similar to the first phase PPP manifolds but they are rarely for sale

Then there's the raceland ones which i have no experience of, others will be able to help out with those though,

hope this helps

stay well clear of the cheap ebay ones they simply dont fit.  Also when the construction of them is looked at, you probably get better performance from the standard cast manifold.  There's plenty of threads on this forum from over the years about them.  Usually by people asking how to make them fit.

i am on abit of a tight budget with this annoyingly

gonna be a hard one

then I wouldn't bother.  Unless you're going to spend money on a good one you'll likely regret it.

Spend the money elsewhere.

whats the problem with yours?

the manifolds are pretty much indestructable...  the downpipes aren't too hard to comeby.

i heard a tapping other day and it was getting worse, thoght it was tappets or oil pump issue but seems like its a nice big crack in my manifold
