Not 100%

Was working away and came back to the g40 running like a bag of shite so changed the plugs coil and dizzy + rotor but the car is not revving to 6k in 4th and 5th just stops at 4+5k any ideas ?? Thanks

You seem to have covered the obvious repair/re-new issues. What about timing?maybe a slack dizzy. Easy check.

How do u check the timing ? Going to test the resistance of the leads today fuel isn't that old just seems lifeless :(

i would suggest another coil if its not new anyway (they are generally crap) and new leads if you dont know the age/condition.

Yea got a coil yeasterday although I did hear a wee pop like electrical pop :/

How do u check the timing ?

Try twisting the distributor to see if it's slack; the work of seconds. For full timing info go to your Haynes manual assuming you've got one. Popping noises when working with the coil sounds as if your trouble is in that corner.

are the leads on the right way round?  up to 4/5k is it firing on all cylinders?
