Title: No more a539s?!?
Post by: hayesey on October 16, 2008, 09:33:56 am: I've been hearing things for a while that yokohama a539s had been discontinued or at least certain sizes of them.

Well, I was looking on Camskill's website the other day for prices for some 195/45/15 A539s but they only had a couple of 13" & 14" sizes listed. So I sent them a message asking about it.

Today they replied saying that A539s are no longer available and the replacement is the S-Drive but these are out of stock and they don't know when they're coming in.

Yokohama A539 R.I.P.? Or still going strong?

People were saying this 2 years ago, but they still seem to be for sale!

I have emailed yokohama UK directly so lets see if they reply! Fingers crossed.

They dont do them in standard size. In fact there isnt a lot of choice at all in the standard size which is why it will be great if they are carrying on with them.

I've never used T1-Rs because I just like A539s.

I think 175/60/13 is def discontinued though as people have asked about that before. I am more asking him if they are planning on discontinuing all A539s since they seem to be cutting the range of available sizes all the time.

So it looks like for most of us, unless we want to run very small mini size tyres, we'll have to find an alternative or try these s-drive tyres. Has anyone tried Yokohama Parada tyres? They are listed on the yoko website as a "performance" tyre as opposed to just a normal tyre I wonder if they are any good?

Post by: hayesey on November 07, 2008, 09:41:42 pm: well I've decided to try out the S Drive AS01 tyre by yokohama now since I can't get hold of a539s in 195/45/15 anymore, no one has any stock and they are discontinued. Getting them fitting at Ears Motorsport tomorrow which is on the end of the cat & fiddle road so should be able to give them a bit of a test on there after they are fitted. It was either that or toyo t1r so I thought I'd see what these new yokos are like. They are apparently the replacement for the a539.
