Engine Missing underload
« on: July 07, 2012, 06:41:50 pm »
Hey guys just blew my coil up and replaced it with another spare i had. Since now and all the lovely weather we've had the car is now missing unload. Have changed dissy cap and rotor arm and ht leads and its still doing it have also adjusted the copot to see if that was it and set it to 600 ohms. I dont no what else to check. Any ideas

New coil needed; but how did you fry the original?

As above, it's likely to be the things you changed just before it went wrong. But you need to fix the underlying issue first.

It's not that easy to put 1st and 2nd under load especially in a G40.

Found the problem number 2 piston closest to the dissy the electrode around the tip of the plug had cracked and dissapered and has lost the end of the plug inside onto the piston. Which apperently might of cause the coil to blow. Ive managed to get the end of the plug out from ontop the piston thro the plug hole. Put a spare plug in and took it down the road and all seems good now :)
