Title: Plastic timing pin?
Post by: Ross36 on April 20, 2018, 07:15:20 am
I have a 1994 G40, it doesn't have the metal timing pin.

It seems to have a plastic one?

Though it looks like it has broken, I can't find any reference photos to see where the timing mark should be.

Seen anything like this before?
Silver pen is where the mark on the crank lines up to.

Found this searching the part number for a lower cover, every photo I've seen of a G40 has a metal timing pin like the last image.

plastic timing cover with pointer is a later replacement part...   (easier to replace that one with a cut out for metal pointer when in situ)

For now since I've only got part of it, do you know if it's timed to the vertical part or horizontal edge?
