Losing Power
« on: August 05, 2008, 05:10:43 pm »
My g40 has recently started losing power, while driving at a constant speed of 60mph the power sometimes starts to dip and you can feel the car starting to pull back (not on all occasions). also whilst the car is ticking over when i start it in a morning when i slightly touch the accelerator even if its been ticking over for 5-10 mins the engine nearly stalls before correcting itself. i havn't a clue what it is but i'd think it was electrical. any ideas?
cheers Tom

check the ignition timing.  That struggling to rev from idle problem can often be incorrect timing.

but there's also lots of other things it could be too.  check out the engine diagnostic guide in the faq section:

could be anything ignition wise, poor battery, alternators, dizzy cap/leads/plugs etc
