Wheel bearings
« on: January 03, 2013, 05:50:17 pm »
My front bearing has gone on the passenger side and im currently looking for some new ones ill do both when i do it as itll save the hassle of doing it all again in 6 months time.
ive looked on a few different web sites and some state that the bearing is for a polo 81-94 but excludes the g40 where as some websites dont even mention it, are the bearings the same across all models? i would of thought so just double checking

also when i get round to doing it could i just bung in the bearing using a vice as a makeshift press and tapping it in straight? or is it really a trip to the garage?

cheers

threaded bar and various sockets to fit,

they are all the same

only use a decent brand or in 6 months you'll be doing it again!

Just an update I went to do my bearing today and the hub nut came loose with little to no force on the breaker bar ......... Problem solved  ::)

I've replaced the nut and regreased everything and things seem alot nicer than they used to

Guess I've just got some spare bearings now
