Original Polo G40

134,000ish Miles on the clock (and counting)

M.O.T until end of june 2012

*Stainless Exhaust (de-cat)

*Lowered around 40mm on a mixture of koni/eibach parts (very good road holding, quite hard)

*Leather Corrado G60 steering wheel (same size and shape as the polo wheel)

*Alpine Head Unit (around £500 worth when new many years ago, IPOD friendly) + alpine front components + Vibe 6x9s hidden under the parcel shelf.

*Stupidly large induction cone instead of the airbox (not my fault , but it does mean you can hear the charger more! every cloud...)

the previous owner of the car saw it poking out of a garage it hadnt left for 5 years. after a bit of asking around it was his. he then proceeded to have the charger reconned and just gave the thing a general overhaul at great expense. just after he finished the work he was diagnosed with nerve problems in his arm and had to buy an automatic car. this is where i jumped in and bought it.
Have a mass of old recipts and MOTS etc..

Since i have had it (1 year) it has had:

new front right wing
new passengers wing mirror
solid brake lines on the rear
Tracked down a rear G40 badge (very pricy)
Clutch cable
Rear bumper (previous owner had cut a big hole out of it for a silly exhaust!)
Leather corrado wheel (stated in modifications)
Sound system (stated in modifications)

For the MOT at the end of june i put some new tyres on (falcons)
had some rubber brake pipes
and a couple of patches of welding.
and some new number plates the smarten it up a bit.
i also changed it back to the original orange indicators and put the side repeaters back on.

Used it as my daily for a year now and the only time it let me down was when the clutch cable snapped. not bad for a 20 year old car!
Body / paintwork is pretty good, few stone chips, little dents etc. as you can see from the pictures she still shines up beautifully and looks great!
The interior is in pretty good shape aside from the stitching on rear bench (see pictures, easy fix) and the parcel shelf could do with re-covering.

The only issue with the car being that the exhaust rattles around in the tunnel under the gear stick since i replaced the de-cat section last week. This is probably just a poorly positioned exhaust clamp, and with any luck i will have a chance to fix it on the weekend.

Overall its a very solid, reliable, rare classic. and goes like a rocket!

Only reason for sale is that i quite fancy an Audi A3 as a daily instead of a supercharged Go-Kart, ha! Also I still have a nice scirocco GTX sat on my driveway that needs some attention.

What colour is it? All I see is "Uploaded with Imageshack US". Probably blocked as I'm at work (most things are blocked) but they don't work as hyperlinks either.
