What type of belts?
« on: December 07, 2009, 12:31:08 pm »
Looking into getting a beltkit of some sort but not sure what to go for.

Have herd mixed views of toothed belt kits so i know a little about them. More info would be good.

But has anyone used these aluminium Micro-V-Belt kits (like the G60 type) from G-laderseite?

http://www.g-laderseite.de/eshop/product_info.php?products_id=42

Was thinking of this more and then getting a ali 65mm pulley, or would 68mm not be that different?

Thanks

Jezza

Hmmm... but im not too woried about the slipping as it wont over stress the charger as much....

Will you gain more power from toothed belt kits?

you'll gain similar power from 65mm vee pulley, the 65mm  ribbed belt and the 65mm toothed pully kit.

The toothies will slip less at high revs, meaning no power loss at top end and as the belts arent as tight, less tension on the charger bearings apparently.

Main point of toothies is the loss of belt slip! (and the noise)

Ok i see.

So really toothed belt is better, but they are both good. Obviously not at higher revs as you mentioned.
