After a bit of looking into it seems they are made from a soft metal, so its just like having a copper HG, along with a normal one to take the fall if it dets im guessing.

Yeah, Ferriday Engineering are well known. However, 'till now I've never looked at their website before.
You're right about the decomp plates, one headgasket between the block and plate then the head sits straight on top of that! :o Clever stuff!
Have thay told you how much they charge for a decomp. plate yet Jez?

Yeah it was circa £80 for a 1mm plate and £10 for the sealing paste. I'm going to need to run a 2mm plate so im assuming it will be some more but im not sure exactly how much. Probably about £120ish i would imagine. Sent my head gasket off to them a while back so they have the pattern and its just a case of patterning it and CNC'ing it. Apparently a 3-4 day turn around once he knows the thickness of the plate being used!
