well kindof. lots of people remove charcoal canister when doing this mod.. it may have been that all the little breather hoses may not have been blocked up successfully

dunno pete i did a proper job of making sure everything was properly sealed and blocked up, the cars running much sweeter now its back to VAG spec, like i said at first i could have just been imagining the power loss, so putting it back is just piece of mind for me.

It occurs to me that you guys could be talking on cross purposes, if Hayesey means perhaps that the boost return valve is leaking or not closing properly - that would certainly cause a loss of boost.

I think cross purposes was the cause of this missunderstanding, think you guy's were reffrerring to the actual valve while I was harping on about the pipe/tube returning the un-used air!!  :-[
